The world is officially opening back up and there are so many opportunities to be seized. But how do you get ahead of the curve and to secure your future success? An internship could be the answer.
Why The Time Is Now
As the world has been at a standstill for almost two years, we have to now strive to make the most of all opportunities. This is especially important if you’re young, or about to start out in your career.
Internships are a great way for young people to explore different industries, to sample different cultures and to find out what they like best before making any major decisions about their career path. Internships also offer an excellent opportunity for young people to gain valuable skills that will help them succeed in life, as well as building up their CV with real work experience. If you’re considering interning in 2022, there’s never been a better time!
Is It Too Early For An Internship?
The decision to apply for an internship is a personal one. It depends on the individual’s career goals, the company they are applying to and their ability to handle school work during the summer.
There are some factors that you should consider before applying for an internship. Do you need to take time off from your current job? What about school? Do you have enough money saved up? If you are unsure whether you should wait or not, talk to your careers advisor, or another professional in the field that you want to get into.
One thing you should try not to worry about is the pandemic. As the world seems to be on a much more positive trajectory in terms of that. Especially now so many have been vaccinated.
Why 2022 Is The Year To Explore Your Career Options
A couple of years ago, a report from the World Economic Forum predicted that by 2022, over 5 million jobs will have been displaced by automation. This means that people will need to rethink their careers and find new ways to make a living.
This is a good time for an internship, because the job market is starting to really evolve. There are bound to be more opportunities for younger people with new ideas and skillsets and by spending time in industry, you’ll learn about potential new opportunities before your peers.
If you’re about to graduate, or finish sixth form collage, now is a good time to explore new opportunities and to start building experience. Having an internship under your belt could make you stand out from the rest.
Where Could You Intern?
You could intern anywhere in the world. You certainly aren’t limited to the city, or country where you live.
My little sister spent her internship in Seoul, North Korea. Seoul is the capital of South Korea and the country’s largest city. It has a population of more than 10 million people, which makes it one of the world’s most populous cities. Seoul has been an important trade centre for centuries, which helped to make it an economic powerhouse in East Asia.
Not only did my sister have a wondaful time, but she reported that the food was great, the people were friendly and the city was very modern. There were also lot of interesting places to explore and she actually visited North Korea on one day trip!
If you’re interested in an internship in South Korea, then International Internships Seoul would be a good starting point.
